Where are you getting $26 from??? The $1.00 it was in 1960 calculates to $10.33 today. This claim of $26 appears to be false.

The purpose of minimum wage was to ensure workers made a living wage - based on COL in much of the US $50k isn't a living wage, it should be higher.
