So the Texas GOP has recently voted to raise the age to purchase cigarettes from 18 to 21 b/c "18 yrs old are too immature to understand fully the consequences of smoking cigarettes.." However, 18ys old are mature enough to buy & use AR-15s w/o either training or a license.. Make this make sense.?

It does to me, it tells me that Big Tobacco isn't donating enough to the Republican party.

Guns but not cigarettes.
Military action but not cigarettes.
Voting but not cigarettes.
Marriage but not cigarettes.

Yeah, they put a lot of thought into that one.

And lest we also not forget the most important thing the GOP seems to believe which is to say that even 10yr old rape victims are apparently not mature enough to decide on whether or not to have an abortion BUT they are de facto mature enough to be forced by the state to give birth to it.. It's sick
