I recently attended World Water Week in Stockholm & had an eye-popping conversation with the Asst AG for Water Rights of Navajo Nation.

40% of NN residents do NOT have access to running water.

2 hours south, Phoenix golf courses are lush & green.

While sovereign, NN residents pay taxes.

WTF?

I have a friend whose parents and grandparents live on a reservation in Utah. They have no electricity, running water, or internet access. A billion dollar gondola to ski resorts proposed at taxpayer expense infuriates me. We need to get adequate amenities for all the natives first.

Pardon my French, but that is fucking crazy - !! I'm aghast - we must do better by the original inhabitants of America. They got completely screwed by our government. Apparently the chiefs signed a treaty with a "X" - they never knew what they were signing away.
