Fascinating and hopeful. I do wonder what happens if the infection that triggered the autoimmunity is still present. Lyme disease can hide out and present as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, MS. Lyme is good at evading tests.

Oh wow! My son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 8. If this gets approved it could change his entire life! The cynic in me feels like the pharmaceutical industry won't let it happen because these illnesses are so profitable. Praying I'm wrong and these treatments make it to the public!

Oh wow. As a person with RA, seeing that mentioned as a possible candidate makes me very excited.

This could be an absolute game changer for those of us with severe allergies.

Once this has finished trials, can we think of a communications campaign to consider if we should call this a vaccine? There are nut cases who might convince someone not to take it. If a patient needs support to take effective medicine & we need to call it something besides "vaccine", let's do that.

It's actually an inverse vaccine, which logically you would think would make them like it. But there's no logic to the anti-science people, only toxic skepticism taken to the extreme.

Any hope for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or Fibromyalgia?

I don't think fibro qualifies as an autoimmune disease; it might be caused by a nervous system that went into overdrive and then never calmed down. (I've had fibro since June 2007.)

WOW! As a Crohn's patient myself, this is outstanding. However, I am so happy for those with MS and type 1 diabetes the most. Can you imagine being cured from these debilitating diseases? Outstanding!
