I'm so impressed with this. Most journalists & news orgs have completely ignored Spoutible...so Christopher just cut out the middle-people. Brilliant.

Now, while sites like FB delete the news & X can't be trusted, Spoutible is suddenly the premier social media news source.

It's happening! The news source settings are available!

Welcome! It is SO cool!

Actually happened a while back – another feature here is "Splashbacks" – i.e. older spouts that got 100 or more likes periodically get posted to the timeline with the Splashback label. It's cool to see older stuff, but they can be turned off if one doesn't want to see them.

And in the most accessible way, too. I've seen a bunch of stuff already today I otherwise might not have.

If only our cableTV news choices were so straight forward. I suspect Fox News would cease to exist.

Just the other day, just searched Ukraine and chose the news option, and was amazed by the amount of info! It's a game changer!

Yes!! The ability to customize is amazing, with both topics and now sources! And also the fact that you can choose your feed – I'm a news junky anyway so I'll mostly be on the spouts-only feed, but will definitely spend some time curating my "news" timeline.

Best part is we can curate our news feed to what we want to read and this is much cleaner to use than a standard RSS feed. Makes me wonder if an ActivityPub is in the cards

I went to look for one or two extreme leaning "news sources" in particular that I could uncheck the box and WHADDYA KNOW they weren't even on the list. LOVE IT.
