1/2 There is some truth to this. I watched my mother make a decision to avoid heart surgery that would have at best given her another 6 months of a low quality life.

But pay attention to who somebody like Munger wants the deciders to be. If it's an elderly disposal scheme, that's immoral.

Yes, I read the article, and I agree with the premise that there are profit machines based on truly non-beneficial surgeries.

My point is that any remedy based on law can be abused in the way I suggested if you're not careful. It's why the "who decides?" question is so important to me.
