I took 2 approaches when shooting this barn in Vermont. One time I focused on the barn; the other time I focused on the fence. I decided I like the 2nd one #better , so that is usually the version I share. #Dailypicturetheme

FYI both of these were shot at f9, 1/320th of a second, ISO 6400. The fence-focused shot was taken at 200mm, the other one at 246mm (on my cropped sensor camera, not a full frame)

For those wondering why I shot a still photo so fast, it’s because I wanted to follow the reciprocal rule of not having my shutter speed be slower than my focal length. The crop on that camera is 1.6. 1.6 x 200mm = 320, so I shot at 1/320th.

I’m a self-taught photographer, however, so don’t necessarily believe every bit of camera lingo I spout off is accurate! I defer to anyone more expert than I on photography.
