"So, a Republican Congressman just said Republicans are “paralyzed” & that they will need Democrats to help them get to 217 votes. Sorry, but it’s not up to Democrats to solve Republicans’ problems. The only viable option left is for five Republicans to vote for Hakeem Jeffries."

It’s not the D’s problem to fix, but they might have to eventually

Today the R’s own the dysfunction, but if this goes on for too much longer, the govt as a whole begins to look dysfunctional, and that’s not a good perception to carry into an election year

The Republicans don't care, so no surprise if they're prepared to sit and wait on Dem acquiescence

Every time the Rs have pulled a shutdown stunt, the following election has been more favorable to Ds.

This is absolutely the end game of all the hyperpartisanship in the House and the political sphere more broadly. When working with the opposition is seen as worse than working with people who want only to burn the government down, things are broken beyond repair.

Surely there are 5 Republicans that work for the constituents of their state instead of corporate donors & the wealthy with big checkbooks.
