Perhaps jazz's "greatest female musician." Her mastery as a pianist, composer, and arranger made her a sought-after talent for decades. She mentored younger artists like Dizzy, Thelonious, Bird, and Miles.

Can you name this highly influential jazz musician? #BlackHistoryMonth #Jazz #swing #music

Yes, it is Mary Lou Williams! Not only was she one of jazz's most excellent musicians, but she was also one of its greatest teachers. Many artists have Mary to thank for her mentorship and guidance. #JazzPiano
