Not surprised. BUT, as a northern gardener, I am reluctant to put certain plants in just because sometimes we do get those damaging cold snaps. I know the avg has increased, but it’s the intermittent extremes that we still get here that kill things over the winter.

Same here. It can be 80 at 11 and below 0 by noon. Those are my numbers not scientifically confirmed. 🙃
That's before tossing in a wind chill. Drastic changes still a sign of climate changes in global warming. I think? "Signs, signs, everywhere a sign."

Now that is extreme. Curious where you are. Must make gardening really challenging.

The original owner of this house put in a dogwood tree. I have people constantly amazed that it is still alive (though not what I’d consider thriving). They just don’t do well here.
