What happens every time as there are major economic challenges, konservatives make empty promises with simple bullshyt solutions to fool the masses. As the nation drifts to the hard right, life gets worse for average citizens but better for the rich. The lies keep flowing until the economy crashes.

That "drift" is the effect of their doubling down on the lies. The culmination is the very obvious 'clown show' juncture we're now at. The "economic challenges" are the opening they exploit to start over again. The "rich" exploit that dynamic (among others). We're slow--distracted--learners.

And yet ignorant fellow citizens continue to believe MSM’s lies that ‘Repugs are better for the economy…’🙄🙄🙄

In part because others--understandably, given the context, yet unhelpfully--behave toward them (even if indirectly) as their abusers (family members, mostly) did when they were children. (See my spouts on 'What's wrong with you?!')

The #BoomerangEffect is a thing.

We have better options.

Secondarily they are unaffected by such facts because it's not a cognitive matter but a psychological one. They still *feel* insecure. Until we address that and stop gaslighting them (from their perspective--because the feelings remain) and address those feelings, the challenge/threats will persist.
