Yeah, the "System" sucks sometimes for lots of people, but anyone who has studied revolutions throughout history would know that burning it all down and starting over generally only benefits those privileged enough to be fireproof.

There is a generic "anti-establishment" crowd who may say they're on the Left, or on the Right, but are really just looking for a radical outsider wrapped in woo-woo and conspiracy theories to come in and wreck everything, and don't much care where they come from.

Yup

And the ones who want to burn it all down are too stupid and/or ignorant to think through their "idea".

Generally because they're already too impaired to think through how to achieve success with or around the system

Tearing it down and starting over sounds like more fun than it actually is.

Freeze everything + begin anew = dream.

Anybody who's restored or renovated a house knows the urge to tear it down but you must USE everything you have + expand.

Only in theatre do you strike the set + begin anew.

They all look at the French Revolution as their guiding star, and ignore (or don't know about) all the nobles who escaped the carnage, while the Reign of Terror that followed cut clean sweeps through the peasantry and working class. The "Republican Marriages" of Nantes are a prime example.

I with that young Leftists would study the French revolution sometime. All that "burning it down" did for those revolutionaries was get them and a whole lot of poor folks killed, while ushering in the Napoleonic dictatorship.

Indeed. It rarely ever works out as the radicals think it will.

well, not the Bolshevik Revolution & not Mao’s revolution either …

but I think it’s a fair point that basically there is plenty of carnage & horror to go around
