SPOILER I recently watched the tv series Timeless, they go back in time etc, they run into her, they know of her inventions with her partner etc, but they also know that she let her patents go and the military used them. Before they leave one tells her 'do not let your patents expire' it was perfect

There is a great historical fiction book called The Only Woman in the Room by Marie Benedict about her life before and after her invention. She was a hidden genius, self taught and very daring for her era.
