I've made fun of the different ways in which drafters remind us how the singular and plural work. The patient zero of this tendency is, I suspect, how the unnecessary defined term "Party" is routinely defined: "each individually a 'Party' and collectively the 'Parties'" (or some variant).

A contract I saw today offers an odd variant I've not seen before, one that sticks the singular-and-plural thing in a cross-reference to the definition in question. There's no end to the strangeness of mainstream contract drafting.
