“I thought that 30 years of good science could address these problems. I was wrong. The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy, and to deal with these we need a cultural and spiritual transformation. And we scientists don’t know how to do that.” —Gus Speth

I have always felt this way about #climate . And I feel the same about #COVID -19 and pandemics. Science is great and helps us a lot. But we cannot solve global crises with science alone. We need big intersectional movements led by the people who are most impacted.

As a former scientist, I watched the response to COVID and was horrified bc if we can’t respond to a problem like COVID, how can we even start to approach Climate change? How do we form the intersectional movements?
