"Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont says his state will purchase $1 billion of residents' medical debt for just $6.5 million.

Then he will cancel it all, abolishing medical debt for 250,000 people.

This is the first time a state has forgiven medical debt at a massive scale."

Focusing on “the greater good” is a powerful , binding act to some and a completely foreign concept to others. I belong to the former group. R’s are in the latter.

Amazingly simple approach! I hope Connecticut’s approach inspires other states to buy state residents medical debt and forgive it. #govLamont #forgivemedicaldebt

Makes you want to live in CT. Especially if you have/had medical debts!

Medical bills should not decimate a family. Hope other governors follow Governor Lamont’s example. #govlamont #medicaldebtcancelled

Lamont would be in the U.S. Senate now if not for that snake, Joe Lie-berman, who destroyed the public option in the ACA, speaking of medical debt.

Wow, do they have to practice in CT for a while ? That's amazing. I would be really impressed if they did that for Social Workers and Nurses, who make even less money. We need them as much as doctors.

It's the medical debts of the citizens of CT, not medical residents' student debts.
