Here’s the deal: If you threaten people — the president, judges, whoever — you should be immediately arrested, thrown in jail, and disqualified as a presidential candidate.

Republicans: Too easy. Let’s put a convoluted conspiracy theory in there.

It is worse because the Secret Service, the best police force in the world is at his side every moment of everyday
Protecting in this case might be interpreted as keeping TFG out of legal trouble

Ordinary people would be. Trump has blackmailed, bribed or bullied enough people, including the media, that they look the other way. He's made a mockery of the rule of law.

It's just that there are two very different justice systems for rich white men and for the rest of us. Strike that, there are 3, 1 for rich white men, 1 for people of color, and 1 for the rest.

You left out regardless of how much wealth they have. Rich people always have the luxury of judge shopping, buying off lawyers and jurors to rule in their flavor.

Discrimination against the poor is built into the system, that's why everything costs money. You broke the law? Pay a fine. You got thrown in jail? Come up with bail. We've criminalized being poor. It's a feature, not a bug.

There is no crime that Trump can commit that will not result in him being coddled by the justice system in this country. Law enforcement seems to look the other way when Trump breaks the law and they drag their feet when it comes to prosecuting him. Disgrace.

I agree that something should be done, and I hope the FBI gets involved, but I don't agree that people should be summarily arrested and thrown in jail. Be careful what you wish for.
