Trump's 2024 primary votes dropped to 911,424 from 1,162,984 in 2020, suggesting waning enthusiasm in his base. Primary votes don't always predict general elections, but a decline of this magnitude signals serious vulnerabilities.

2016: 1,077,221
2020: 1,162,984
2024: 911,424

The drop in primary votes could be interpreted as an erosion of Trump's support within the GOP. In the context of a general election, this could mean less automatic support from Republican voters, making him more reliant on convincing undecided and swing voters.

I would also like to highlight Trump received fewer votes in 2024 than in 2016. Considering these factors, Trump's position heading into the 2024 general election is precarious despite what the polls and the pundits claim.

I like the trend, but we still need the blue wave in November!

You couldn't tell it from Time Magazine. I came here for sanity after seeing this posted elsewhere, with the comment "the wolf really is at the door "

I know it's not possible that the polls the author is citing are accurate, but what if

Correct! Also, in 2020, Trump amassed that one million vote total with serious competition that collectively gained over 1 million votes between them. With only Haley and DeSantis on the ballot, they received a small amount and Trump got far less than 2016. People in FL are tired of Trump.
