Here we go again—bank failures followed by government bailouts. So many of us said this would happen, and it did. We told Congress to resist the siren call of Silicon Valley and Wall Street, but they didn’t. And now, here we are.

I wish we could be surprised, but…not.

For all intents & purposes, the US is a low-key oligarchy. The whole concept of trickle-down/“voodoo” economics, laissez-faire capitalism is built on the premise that a minority of wealthy, white, men MUST always be favored & prioritized, above all others.

What am I missing? I don’t believe the government has directly bailed out a bank this time. Yet. The government bailed out large depositors but the banks involved failed. Their investors lost everything, so far. A third bank, Republic, was rescued by other banks, not the government.
