The number of minors employed in violation of child labor laws increased 37% in the last year.

Remarkably, this year, legislators in 6 states (IA, MN, MO, NE, OH, SD) have proposed 8 bills that make it easier to exploit kids for profit.

We live in the Second Gilded Age.

Add Wisconsin to that list. They are trying to get rid of work permits for 14 year olds AND let them serve alcohol.

We need to make "Christian" Huckabee Sanders the face of child exploitation in this country.

Let's see if the "pro-life"-ers will rush to protect the post-born.

Don’t forget the dip 💩 Fuckabee Sanders in AR. She just made it super cool to allow children to work any time of night in any job even slaughter houses. How is this the world we live in ? Is it still 2023? Just checking.

I just listened on local public radio what must have been old white guys in praise of child labor and kids as young as 14 being allowed to work since they are “young men passed puberty”!

Republicans will do anything for cheap labor. I have no doubt they would bring back slavery if they could.

I suspect that's where the GOP's whole "return abortion rights to the states" movement is headed. Civil rights at the mercy of majority Republican state legislatures.

How long before individual states reinstitute slavery? What's to stop them?

And BTW - we aren't going to FEED those kids anymore so we will outlaw birth control and abortion so there is a steady supply of new workers.
