Resigning in disgrace doesn't seem to be much of a thing anymore, just double down, plough on, shred all the norms and see how long you can cling on (and then resign in utter disgrace)!

Agree. The whole notion of public service is gone. It’s all abt self dealing, now.

Compounding this is the voters cynicism. It’s just assumed politicians cheat, therefore there’s no point in resisting.

Definitely it's pure opportunism for people with the worst of intentions. The juxtaposition between France and other European countries is astounding, they tried to raise the pension age by ONE YEAR, can you imagine if they were pulling the shite the British government are

Exactly. Dems aren't perfect, but most of them, at least those I am familiar with, seem to genuinely want to govern well and help people. ALL people.
