We were going to put the following question into the survey, but I felt it would be better if we could read your individual responses. Does Spoutible make you feel safe, and if so, why? If not, please explain why not and what we can do to make you feel safer.

Yes, because it actively promotes inclusion, and Bot Sentinel technology gives you the tools to control whenever seeps in uninvited.

Yes I feel safe here and can feel comfortable speaking up. But I tend to stick to mundane topics like pets, flowers and sunshine. Not many trolls will bother with me.

Mostly. People do sort of pile on others sometimes. Occasionally there's some vitriol. But it's a lot better than other places, and I feel much more comfortable. Still not using my real name, though.

Yes, it does help me feel safe. I feel like I can post more freely than the other site. I feel more free to engage with others. If, God forbid, someone was trying to attack me, I can defend myself and others got my back.

I feel safe here & so I tend to comment more, feel I can post something serious or funny without being ridiculed or judged. I appreciate that this is a safe space for others whom I have often seen harassed on other sites.

I feel very safe here and that’s a great part of being part of the Spoutible community.

However, I’ve seen some popular spouters go after others in ways that I feel are over the top.

Report the posts, block, and move along.

I feel safe here.
The community is probably the biggest reason I stay.
I have found my pod, my crew, my group.
I enjoy my time here because bullshit isn't tolerated.
Also, I have found people who share my quirky interests.
Thanks everyone, for tolerating me. 💛

@cbouzy you & your team have created a great foundation! As the service continues to grow, I believe ya’ll are prepared to continue to fortify!

I do often think about Safety Vs Echo as I hope ALL are welcomed here regardless of their political leaning!

Am I wrong to think that?

it's a little mixed. Some here are absolutist on certain issues and will jump at any opportunity to browbeat others for their insensitivity.

I often just don't speak because 300 character-statements are easy to distort.

Even this statement is potentially liable to backlash.

Yes, I feel incredibly safe here! I can type the word "sugar" when describing my desserts without being bombarded with shady offers from unsavory characters. I have yet to feel disrespected, and have felt nothing but kindness from the users of this platform. You've really created something special!

I feel quite safe here, although I am not a member of a population typically targeted for harassment and violence unless you count “liberal” or “American”. I do appreciate that other people feel safe here, and that matters more.

I do. I'm at the point on the site formally know as twitter where I spend more time blocking fake accounts than anything else. I would leave, but none of my sports accounts are on here yet.

I feel safe because I haven’t seen anyone being harassed here. My account was hacked, taken over by bad people, and permanently suspended at Twitter/X. They never responded to my help requests or requests to delete my account (my account is still there, although I can’t do anything with it). I belie

I feel safe here because others that have felt unsafe elsewhere feel safe here. I never felt personally threatened there, but knowing that others did and they feel safe here is all I need to know. #ItAintAboutMe

I do feel safer knowing that who-ever I might be conversing with is a real person. We may or may not agree on everything, but we will not be allowed to be abusive or threaten each other without swift and permanent consequences.

I do think there is a contingent here, though, who combs through Spouts looking for anything they can pounce on, rather than sincerely looking at understanding different ideas.

Most definitely! You shared your vision with us, asked for our input in developing this amazing space for us. You told us we would be safe and protected from hate and you have followed through. When something nasty (porn) shows up, it is gone quickly (thank you). You honor ALL of us

Absolutely. I wouldn't use my name, or reveal as much as I do about my location if I didn't. It's the first time in 30 years (almost) online i haven't felt compelled to run anonymous.

I feel totally safe expressing myself on Spoutible.
First because I have control over what I see and, this should have been first, because the respectful folks hugely outnumber the assholes here.
And your leadership sir.
It’s beyond reproach.
Thank you.

Spoutible does make me feel safe. It is good to be able to spout and not worry about being attacked for what you say. There is none of the racist hate speech and that is comforting. It is one thing to disagree but here it is done without hate and unkindness.
