Take 2 put in water overnight. Plant in Dixie cups see if it sprouts. Grind one with a spoon sniff gently.

take some. put them in water overnight, cook them, see if they smell like pinto beans.
They look like unculled (that is, broken 1s haven't been cleared out) pinto beans to me.

Thank you! I’m wondering if they’ve been roasted.

They seem to be more bean-like than nut-like.

I'd love to see replies you got. I've been unable to find responses for anyone. Is it me or Spoutible?

Looks like pinto beans that are only good for pig feed now. Perhaps got wet and dried out? Odd, but do you compost and perhaps a neighbor knows?

They look like dried beans that have gotten wet/moist. And what you do with them is dispose of them like you would with any unknown substance from an unknown source.

They look like last years fava beans. Some you can plant but the rest are compost.

They look like peanuts to me but like they got wet and then dried. I def wouldn’t eat anything left on my doorstep by someone I don’t know. But, maybe toss out to feed birds?

No idea! 😂
I’m going to hold onto them until the culprit comes forward. Or until someone tells me what they are.

They don't look like pistachios. More like hazelnuts -- which I have discovered I love as a flavor but not as a nut.
