To thwart DeSantis's book banning in public schools and libraries, Barnes & Noble has setup a Banned Books section in their Florida stores. Thank you Barnes & Noble!

Also are these reason real? Winnie the Pooh for talking animals being disrespectful to God. Have they ever read a Bible? These reasons have to be a joke.

Florida's book banning laws are very broad and anyone can object to any book. If in a classroom or library you don't need to be a parent or even live in the school district to lodge a complaint. School boards are terrified of being noncompliant with the laws, it's just easier to ban the book

I worked at B&N part time years ago and they have had similar displays each year, although they were typically books that 'used' to be banned. Who would have thought that we'd be there again!

The reasons are ridiculous but also set a dangerous precedent if nothing is done to stop this.

I am pretty sure all my kids read all of these books either at home or at school. Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry is mandatory reading in my wife’s third grade classroom.

Is this all true? Were these books banned, and for the reasons listed?

Yes. The language of the book-banning law in Florida is very broad and anyone can request that a book be banned.

I'm a B&N fan but buy these books at a place like Books and Crannies.

What possible reason is “ Hop on Pop” banned for? Is it because Pop isn’t fully clothed? 😂

Really, a Dr Seuss book was banned because it encourages children to employ violence against their fathers.
