Yesterday was the day that @Spoutible roared with the political.

Today is the day we should be figuring out how to use this platform to organize, not simply be outraged.

Since we’re a community: Any suggestions?
Echo. Reply. There are bright, kind people here.

Let’s start working together.

I'll need support to unseat a GOP extremist in Senate District 18 here in Kansas. I'd love the support of the Spoutible community.

2—Enjoin Out-of-State college students in super majority gerrymandered Red States to transfer out before Fall deadlines
3—Enjoin In-State students with means to transfer out of anti-democracy states
4—All student lovers of democracy must visibly protest oft

Businesses aren't speaking up. Start boycotting businesses that don't support democracy. Target them effectively. We are all over the place.

Good point, Ocean. It’s overwhelming finding and keeping track of all the businesses that either support the Right, or those that play it both ways. Having a simple list to help focus our boycotts and energy would be helpful.

Maybe a group to share what we have done in the past for a campaign or for a cause. Explain how volunteering for these makes us feel. Information for those that have never volunteered or been to a march or part of a campaign.

We need to work on galvanizing the Black constituency in red states and mobilize them to vote at all costs. They are already being disenfranchised through legislation. We also need to galvanize the elderly who have no mode of transportation to vote and can’t do an absentee ballot.

1 thing is for everyone to monitor their state legislatures/ report here. None of us can track all the shenanigans, but all of us can inform and advocate/ work for change. Basics: register to vote. Vote in every election, every time. Call/email elected pols. Donate $ and/or time to candidates.

I think we need to take notice of, and make media take notice of, efforts by elected Democrats to fix structural problems.
Examples:
There are bills to increase the # of seats in the House to reflect our actual population.
There is a bill to amend the constitution that will squash citizens united

I am in NY CD3, Northeast Queens - currently embarrassed by George Santos. We are in Bay Terrace. I favor Melanie D’Arrigo, who I hope will be the Dem candidate in 2024. You can follow @darrigomelanie here, as I do. She is gracious, smart, kind, dynamic. She could win. I’ll work for her campaign.

A priority needs to be how to inform an uninformed public. I talked to two young people last night, one of which had not heard of the Tennessee Three. Neither knew why the sleazeball in Florida was arrested. They clearly don't understand the threat to democracy that we are under.
