Please be aware COVID cases are up but hardly anyone is testing anymore

Be vigilant, don’t let your guard down

This current variant is no joke, seeing lots of very sick people

Do CoVID tests from before the new variants still detect the newer variants?

Yes. They have also extended the expiry date for the tests, I believe by 4 months in the US and 6 months in Canada.

Many report that the latest strain is not showing positive until 4-6 days after the person starts to feel unwell.

Very few masking around here. I’m used to being the only one.

My elderly neighbors (in their 80s) called this morning. Both tested positive for Covid. They had managed to avoid it all this time. My husband does a lot of errands for them so he tested -- thankfully negative.

It's scary that cases are still up even without consistent or regular testing. Whatever the numbers say, we gotta figure at least 100x more.

Yeah I have been informed we are having a photographer come in to the office to take new pictures for the work website and I'm trying to decide how to approach that. Because I have liver and cardiovascular issues already. (I am still WFH.)

If it's the same photographer as last time I may ask if I can drive to her studio and if she can wear a mask while she takes my photos because then I wouldn't be unmasked in an office with poor ventilation around a bunch of other unmasked people.

My daughter and I were having this exact conversation just the other day. It was so disappointing to consider that as our unending future. We are both lupus warriors, plus of course the other various things you always have once you find you have one auto-immune disorder. ☹️

I had to wait in line for a prescription the other day for 20 minutes and the woman behind it was hacking up a lung and I'm so happy that I had a mask on me. I have a pre-surgery covid test Wednesday. I feel fine but you worry after something like that.

The drive-thru at my pharmacy is SO SLOW but like I bring my Kindle and just wait so I don't have to go inside with all the coughing people. I know not an option for everyone though.
