Rep. Ritchie Torres
A
I just voted NO on the MAGA Republican bill to raise the debt ceiling. I can't support a bill that includes slashing critical funds that will hurt working families, the middle class, and our veterans.

When a fraudster like George Santos is the deciding vote, you know the bill is a fraud.

representative Watson Coleman is my representative. not showing up for a vote doesn't sound like her.

Keep up fighting for a clean debt ceiling bill! Budgets should be worked out separately.

We need to stop believing that the republicans actually care about Americans. Their goal is to destroy the middle class and have a fascist rule.

Work requirements for basic human needs like food & health care — aside from being a political red herring (most participants w/o disabilities in SNAP & Medicaid are already working) — are simply cruel & counterproductive, as short-sighted as proposals to cut these programs.
