The adventure crafting guide for a Westmarches D&D group I'm in are "Expect each encounter to take 45 minutes" with regard to time estimates. I stretch that to an hour for my home game to account the inevitable grab-assing & other distractions. How do you minimize cross-talk and distraction midgame?

If everyone is having fun, I don't rein it in at all. If it's not everyone, then I usually just say something like "TPK says what?"

It'll never be eliminated but I think you definitely minimize it.
