I’m wondering how many of you out there listen to podcasts.

If you l answered yes, reply with your favorite kind of podcast.

If you answered no, reply with why not.

Also, if you don’t mind could you guys echo this? I don’t usually ask for an echo but I’m super curious about this one.

Yes - I listen every day

Yes - I listen sometimes

No

I get that. Some podcasts I listen to every episode religiously. Others I listen to when they talk about something I like.

I listen to mostly true crime podcasts too. Strange and Unexplained with Daisy Eagan is pretty good but not true crime.

That’s interesting. I can only think of one podcast that has transcripts available. I haven’t listened for a while but Truth and Justice with Bob Ruff always had transcripts.

He works wrongful conviction cases so the inmates he’s working with typically can’t listen to podcasts.

You might like A Paranormal Chicks.

They do true crime cases and paranormal stories.

Fair warning they do get a little raunchy sometimes.

@gatorskinsoul : I listen to podcasts a lot . I use phone's bluetooth connection to my hearing aids. Sound blocks my tinnitus. Favorites are #SistersInLaw , Now&Then, Jack, Stay Tuned with Preet, Ukraine: The Latest, Cleanup on Aisle 45, NewYorker Radio Hour, NPR Politics, TodayExplained, TheDaily...

I'm fond of Welcome to Nightvale and the Magnus Archives. I also love the No Sleep Podcast, and recently I've been super into Scared to Death. They're great to listen to when I'm working because sometimes they give me ideas and sometimes I learn something new ^^

Podcast topics I like (examples): Footy/Soccer (Men in Blazers, Talk Timbers); historical/paranormal (Astonishing Legends, Midnight Library); fiction (Tanis, Rabbits, Black Tapes); old timey radio-style (Decoder Ring Theater); RadioLab. Always looking for other suggestions in these genres!

I listen on dog walks and to most listed here but one that I live is ‘Too Much Information’ the dive into different shiws, movies, songs etc - they are two funny guys. Also my friend suggested ‘My Dad Wrote A Porno’ it was very funny but too graphic for me… what a prude !!

Sometimes interesting science-y ones like Ologies.

Sometimes comedy like CBC’s The Debaters.

Sometimes weird/interesting fiction ones like Rabbits or Tanis or Escaping Denver. Used to love listening to Coast to Coast with Art Bell on the radio.

Or I’m just too important and busy to listen :)

Still listen occasionally, most recent being FreakonomicsMD which is awesome (on hiatus right now)

Podcasts are usually my dog walk thing, as I don't need to pay as much attention as I would with an audiobook. I crocheted a huge chunk of baby blanket yesterday while binge-listening to all 7 eps of Wiser than Me, though.

Listen to lots of podcasts (it's my world since I'm a podcaster). I listen to podcasts about podcasting, some true crime, some skepticism, some storytelling.

Favorite right now is “The Colin McEnroe Show” which is just the podcast version of CT public radio show. I am no longer local, so it’s been great. Always an eclectic mix of crazy cultural stuff; The classics, to science stuff, current movies, odd historical stuff to We take your calls.

No, I don't have the patience to listen. Even the TV is usually just background while I do my research, with the exception of just a few favorite programs. I need to be able to run things through my mind while I research, and podcasts need the listener to focus on them...
