These ads never work out well for whatever bigoted company tries it. Dove tried it and got push back, some other laundry and even video game companies and whoever this is will to. Stop treating my skin as if it can be cleaned away!

So basically, companies can use this tech to just hire white people and make it look like they've got lots of diversity? Or hire diverse talent but make it look to their racist viewers like they're all white/light-skinned?

That's what it looks like to me.

This is one reason why the Hollywood writers and actors focused on fighting AI so hard: so that this won't be allowed soon.

Yes, it deeply concerns me. It has been used in the past few years with the sole intent of spreading misinformation with horrible results. You won't be able to trust anything unless the person is actually in front of you. Wonder when the look-a-like robots will arrive.

And fear is what's most effective for manipulation. Instead of living in fear, we should learn more about the things that are most unsettling to us. Then we can use that knowledge to combat the fear brought to us by whatever means. Remember JFK, The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Looked into software that can generate an AI model from a short audio video clip. It can then be made to say anything. Someone else’s image can also be draped over the AI model.
Pandora’s Box is ajar.

Justine Bateman has been tweeting about how whole tv shows could be written and, w/ the actors' previous works & voices as models, shows can be made without the writers and actors being present. She also notes that AI like this esp. frightening because footage could be manipulated for court cases.

It is going to be hell on Earth in the next 10 to 20 years, if these kinds of things are not addressed.

This is an issue all the way around. It opens the doorway to this type of application being used to produce bots on any platform, for the average person would not be able to detect it as AI and possibly be lead to believe the façade of whom ever is behind it. We have also already witnessed how it 1/

AI is insidious, it’s already being used all over the place and some of the uses are scary. I am the admin of a couple of groups on LinkedIn, and the sheer amount of posts that are pure AI generated content that I delete is growing weekly, the amount of people posting images created by AI also.
