To avert a default, the House and Senate must pass the deal and send it to Mr. Biden for his signature. That promises to be a heavy lift for both Mr. McCarthy and Representative Hakeem Jeffries of New York, the Democratic leader, who must now cobble together a coalition of Republicans and Democrats.

Frustrating story:
• List the wins and the losses!
• No comments from #HakeemJeffries or Biden
or ANY Senators

#nytimes drives me crazy!

I’m going to hold off and see what happens. This clearly is not a done deal and this report is incomplete.

Hakim Jeffries has to get the Dems to accept stuff that they are against, like the requirements for work for folks on assistance and a few other issues. Then, McCarthy has to convince the R nut jobs to vote for this. Neither is going to be easy. 🤞it can happen but I won't hold my breath.

As much as I support Biden, I must say that agreeing to cuts, instead of invoking the 14th Amendment, may be one of the greatest mistakes of Biden's Presidency to date.

Republicans are rewarded for holding the world hostage. And these cuts will be played up to encourage progressives to not turn out
