House Republicans get $79 per day for meals and incidentals.

Poor people get $2 per meal under SNAP.

Republicans want to cut $2 for the poor while pocketing nearly 40 times as much for their own meals.

Sound fair to you?

Their $79 per meal would feed a meal to almost 40 people - That is obscene and selfish.

Do House Democrats get $79 per day?

It has to be so disheartening to work with fiends who set their intentions every morning to legislate amoral policies that negatively impact their marginalized constituents. Thank you for your righteousness in the struggle to stop them.

And the Democratic Party agreed to make them work for that $2/meal. Shame on them.

They don't actually believe that all people are created equal. They think that some people are better than others.

That alone should disqualify them from any public service position in the United States.

For every dollar they take away from the American citizens, they should be required to personally donate $5.00 to a food bank or some other agency who will pick up the pieces.

Yes We are not happy about the SNAP changes. But, can’t you at least do the math right? we’ll go with $2/meal. 3 meals/day = $6/day. So the Congress allocation of $79/day isn’t 40x the SNAP benefit, it’s 13x. Still bad but apparently every politician just must screw with the math. Come on!

I can eat like Caligula for $79 each day. My daily caloric intake costs around $8-15 per day. When I was in my twenties I only spent about $3-5 per day by only having one real meal (hot dog and beans) and one snack (peanut butter sandwich).

House republicans auction off used chapstick for $100k to fill their campaign chest. While Americans across the country were wondering how badly they would be affected by the budget cuts repubs were trying to enact.

Fair? With 1.2 of those recipients being veterans, it sounds downright disrespectful, actually. The remainder of the Americans who rely on the safety net? It seems fittingly Republican to put them in a place to erase the security of staving off hunger. Some serious great makin right there. *eyeroll*
