Why are we paying taxes on our social security payment? And why is there a limit to how much we can earn if we are receiving our hard-earned social security payment? This is dishonest! We are being penalized for having worked our entire life and paid into this fund?

I agree with you, it was back during the Reagan era they started taxing social security, if I'm not mistaken. The entire Social Security system is smoke and mirrors. The math never adds up.

Rather than vote to abolish it, we vote to continue to believe the lies we tell ourselves. Now I'm almost able to collect. I can't pretend that I didn't know.

Because every Republican administration starting with Ronnie Reagan started taxing SS as part of the tax cuts for the rich strategy. It’s really unbelievable that non rich people vote Republican. The GOP could not care less about non rich people.
