The Redwood City Public Art Program contracted graphic artist Damon Belanger to cover the city with these fake, painted shadows meant to confuse, inspire and amuse.

Very charming. Do you think they might extend the artist’s work to include man hole covers. There was an article a few weeks back that showed the painted covers in Japan. They also were whimsical.

I wish they would. This whole thing is so fun, and people who've seen it IRL say it's even better. Now I want to go find the manhole covers!

This one is my favorite and #3 is in second place. The bottom line is art in public places paid for with public funds. It's reminiscent of the WPA arts projects.

It's the best thing I've seen in a while. Can I confess without being obnoxious that this post (from me) has been the number one trending post on Mastodon all day, even above George Tekai. And I don't know how to do Mastodon threading, so they only got the first one. 😁

These are great and hopefully he'll move down the peninsula so we get some in San Jose too, that would be great. However, didn't he realize that for people who navigate solely by sun angle this is going to cause all kinds of havoc?

Could you explain what you mean by navigating by sun angle? That sounds like something one might do on a boat.
