I caught these unearthly mammatus clouds west of the Kimball NE area just after sunset on Fri 6/23/23. They were generated by a severe storm complex in far NE CO. Image (c) Robert Henson.

Was that the same storm that toppled railroad cars in WY?

Nope—same day, but different storm complex (further south).

I have only seen them once. In Kansas. All orange an red. Then I went to the storm shelter, with everyone else. Beautiful and worrisome at the same time!!!

Looks like an alien space ship is about to drop their eggs and unleash their spawn on some helpless community.

Great photo. I was lucky to capture these clouds a year ago in Northeastern PA.
