Re-watched the pilot episode of the Original Series of Star Trek for the first time in... eh...30 - 40 years.

Aliens were great. Weird to see the crew like that... Spock's eyebrows are huge & he's very emotional.

Can confirm, no hats. The alarming lack of hats in Star Trek began right from day 1.
