I went through this as a Gen X teen; there were so few resources to explore or understand or find allies or representation, especially in rural areas we were often in. You're a terrific parent, thanks for being supportive of your child and the best to you and her ❤️

Sue Grafton was great as well. I used to have a huge collection of Grafton paperbacks (these were misappropriated, let's say, by someone). I like to go back and visit Santa Teresa from time to time (I like how she borrowed that name from Ross MacDonald).

On February 19 in 2014 Monkey Head Nebula
This image reveals carved knots of gas and dust in a small portion of the Monkey Head Nebula. The nebula is a star-forming region that hosts dusky dust clouds silhouetted against glowing gas.

I ilke this as in Chinese Astrology, I'm Year of the Monkey.

#Song is from the Old English "sang." Sang is French for "blood" from the Latin sanguis. Is a song, then, blood? Does a song stir one's blood or become embedded in one's blood? Can we carry a song, like blood, in our genes?...Choose your song wisely. #Spoutories

There it was. The archived website from the mid-00s. What was left of truthfully documented #history . Long forgotten; before the time of the AI gods decreeing our history, ethics, desires. A digital equivalent of a scroll in a dusty scriptorium. Here it is. It is now our revolution. #Spoutories

Good one, and I’m sorry about that teacher. That’s what I try not to be. I hope you get a chance to revisit the film again on your own terms.

Adding mysterious calls (the scariest part of The Mothman Prophecies). I know it's out there, but as a fan of "In Search of" the Bermuda Triangle radio call-in message. https://bit.ly/3SkQAR6 or the episode here, call story starts at 11:50. https://youtu.be/FluvcILjT...

I remember that one! Bill Kurtis re-did the narration. One of the few open-minded shows on the topic on cable. There's a pretty good website that reviews books/tv and events, https://www.kennedysandkin...

Yes, I thought about that, what might make a classic. As Gen X, I keep thinking 20 years ago was in the 1970s, but alas! Let's say 1994 as a baseline :)

Just completed that one, I agree! It's a great introduction for persons who don't know much about the topic and the things that don't fit the official narrative.

It was a panel interview; two persons pleasant and asking good questions, positive body language. The third glaring at me the entire time, barely speaking., arms folded. And that one was the decision maker. I just knew what the result would be.

The owls are gone when you look away. So look away. They can still see you. (I choose to hear this in Michael J. Anderson's voice, in reversed speech).

Me as well. Sometimes have to be in the mood -- kind of the flipside to the wisecracking detectives, but I could read some Easy Rawlins right now.

I understand. It's that way with me and Nero Wolfe. Sometimes, even though I have the paperback, I'll check out an ebook just to read on the subway. It's like being with friends!

What a great mom! Mine was similar and let me read anything. Her mom was a Margaret White (from Carrie) type who didn't tell her anything about life and she was determined I would have open access to information (and entertainment).
