Background. I know crap all about classical music, but inspired by Dr Laura’s enthusiasm for it, I try to follow her posts and pod. Today I heard this piece as a fish (horn) in a stream (piano) with a butterfly or maybe a dragon fly (flute) flittering around. See illustration 😁

The Willott Iris Garden is already abloom with dozens of miniature irises. A worker told me that there are blooms from April through September though the peak is May. You can see from the tags how many varieties the Willotts hybridized over 30 years: hundreds.

#SpoutibleBakes My childhood-fave "golden crown ring rolls", each roll as usual dipped in butter & cinnamon-sugar, each roll not as usual having two cherries hidden inside. I didn't photograph the hot-out-of-the-oven full pan, because people (but not sleepy cats) were waiting to eat them right away.

Our tabby-and-white cat Oswald is lying on the bed with his mouth open in a small yawn (i.e. the part of the yawn either right before or right after the super-giant-yawn-full-of-fangs part) and his eyes closed. Right behind his head and back is a 13-inch by 9-inch metal pan with seven of the original fifteen rolls still remaining. They had been rolled into balls when I had put them in the pan, but expanding to fill space as they rose, each one basically became a cube. A lot of buttery cinnamon sugar is visible on the top of each roll.

Everyone has a best friend. Some have had only one in their lifetime. Some for only a brief time. I can't imagine having never had a bestie despite being (what I now understand to be) neurodivergent. I never needed company, but there were times that one person was there and welcomed.
