The Hubster just returned home w/groceries. We have a wheelchair ramp, so he uses a garden cart (from Mother's Day 20yrs ago) to help haul the groceries into the house.

This amaryllis bulb was neglected in the basement for years.
Last Spring, I started watering it, hoping for eventual greenery.
Today I noticed that IT HAS A FLOWER HEAD!!

Our local Rural Dems group has been sending letters to new homeowners in our area, reminding them to update their address with the BoE and also join us in our efforts to elect more Democrats. Today I realized I've sent over 200 letters since September!

My kittehs like this #lamp for the warmth produced by its 3 bulbs. Manufactured by the Frankel Light Company (Cleveland, OH) sometime between 1900-1917, this #lamp has been in our family for 6 generations. Sadly, my mother cannot recall how/why her mother first acquired it.

"White Jesus" aside, this #frame (& print) hung in my parents' home before I was born. My mother gave it to me when The Hubster & I bought our own home. She said this print always brought her comfort...which is good...because she now lives with US & again sees it every day!

My mom just got out of the hospital (pneumonia). But while there, with instigation by a fun family member, nurses came RUNNING down the hall to investigate that 'noise' coming from her room. Upon finding THIS, one said she laughed so hard, she had to cross her legs to keep from peeing herself.

Knowing we are idiots with soft hearts, our neighbor confessed to putting this stray kitten on our porch. (His dog had found it and attacked, so he could not keep the cat.) The Hubster then found a co-worker whose daughter *needed* a kitten. (I'd been calling her Edna.)

Once I'd gotten home AFTER walking through this #storm (there had been nowhere to take cover!) , I learned it had developed into a tornado.
Y'all---I WALKED THROUGH A TORNADO!
Lesson learned: ALWAYS check the weather report before going walking, even on a beautiful day!

When his wife was put on bed rest *after* we'd planned the baby #shower , my nephew attended in her stead. This big, burly man was a good sport about being surrounded by squealing aunties & other elders as he held up each tiny baby gift!
