Guy played a lick, Mayer answered. On the third “call” Buddy Guy tore it up with a phenomenal performance. John Mayer, with eyes huge, took off his guitar and laid it on the floor and walked offstage. They later became friends I think.

Years ago I think he was at the Grand Emporium in KC, and on a big stage, he was at Clapton’s Crossroads Festival at the Cottonbowl. He followed a young John Mayer who stayed on the stage. It made Buddy Guy mad and he started a “call and response” duet with Mayer.

Buddy Guy was amazing. I saw him live twice. A guitar maniac!

I agree that “outlier” is the unlikely possibility and that the immediate (in geologic time scales) release of gases toxic to the Earth are causing most of the rise in temps melting the poles and disrupting any sense of normalcy in weather worldwide. Fossil fuel issue!

The internet has provided the means for associating with others with similar views. It’s a good thing but there is an obvious downside,

The State still imposes similar restrictions. Yields are nearly as good as they ever were with a bit over half the previous water use.

Farmers quickly adopted water conservation practices that conformed to the situation. Farmers tried alternative hybrids, crops and practices and found that little was lost in yields. The 5 year averaging allowed farmers to maximize yields over varying weather situations and soil types.

Neighboring areas were mad that we acknowledged a problem. After two years the State stepped in and imposed LEMAs on all water users. Wells are metered, and our previous allowance of 24 acre/inches per year was reduced in 2012 to 55 acre/inches in 5 years.

I am retired, but was one of the first irrigators in our area. The Ogallala Aquifer is huge. As the water table dropped a group in our area formed to mitigate the problem. We formed the first Local Enhanced Management Area (LEMA) in conjunction with the state groundwater management dept.
