I think the political problem is that everyone—left and right alike—fears handing to the state the power entailed by truly acknowledging covid. People saw lockdown, digital contact tracing, and the coming potential of AI to control—and ran terrified in the other direction.

Why don't we hold people at all responsible for infecting others with a virus that can disable and kill? I certainly don't mean that the person who infects someone who dies should be treated as a murderer—but surely the appropriate quantity of responsibility is greater than zero?

Problems

- novel airborne vascular illness
- saying it is not airborne
- waiting too late
- saying kids don't spread it
- not investing in clean air
- not recommending respirators
- saying reinfections don't happen

Not problems

- lockdowns (a costly solution to real problems)

My covid advocacy goals:

1. Promote mitigations like respirators, air purification etc.
2. Promote recognition and treatments for Long Covid, ME/CFS and related
3. To be civil, reliable, vulnerable, earnest and genuine
4. To not engage with those who do not share my values
