There were definitely some *choices* made at the #GRAMMYs that deserve heavy critique (and obviously also many of us root for the folks who we like and/or who speak to us), but #BonnieRaitt is a LEGEND. I hadn’t heard this song before. Her win pushed me to give it a listen. Unsurprisingly, it’s ❤️❤️

A THOUSAND times this

I’ve been thinking about how horrifyingly efficient a strategy this is to ant once erase/terrorize transgender kids & force kids with uteruses to give birth that I missed this. Sports are a crucial tool in supporting girls to know their worth & set/enforce bodily boundaries

Lol. Interesting…. If the ads are gendered and corrosive when they come (I’m sure the Spoutible team won’t be trying for this but I’m not sure how much control they’ll have), I may try altering my gender in my profile and see what happens.

The last few weeks (contextualized within the last few months, years, decades, and centuries…) have us thinking about what we can do differently to catalyze and/or support even more meaningful systemic change. Looking forward to learning what y’all are doing in your community and beyond. 2/2

This impacts people in deeply inequitable ways. Communities that have been divested from, that are deprived of basic services like high-speed internet and well-funded libraries, will be disproportionately impacted. Not everyone has the same access to these books beyond schools and libraries. 😡 3/3

One of the things they are doing is creating multiple fronts, so that the energy/bandwidth & resources of the opposition spreads thin. Fighting book bans and forced birth-movements and transphobic laws all at once is… a lot. This is the point. It’s baked into the strategy. And they are *good* at it.

Probably. One of the things I've been thinking about lately though is that when people and systems simultaneously build multiple roadblocks to people's fundamental rights (to critical education, to bodily autonomy, financial stability, etc), these roadblocks have an exponential effect. 1/3

(Hi! Trying to reply! Not sure if this is going through not at all, or multiple times. Sorry if there's a repeat. :))
