SCOTUS lost all credibility when it ruled that corporations were people (obviously paraphrasing).

I'd love to see just one of those legislators, or the governor, out in the Texas sun for 4 hours without a break from the sun or moment to drink water.

Agreed. They continue to break the systems that allow for a healthy middle class and upward mobility while telling us the system is broken and we should all work harder. Then throw in some racism, sexism, LGBTQ+phobias to keep white men scared. It's infuriating and it's been my entire adult life.

Yep. In the end you can win over everyone, except those who feel threatened. If someone, and it can be men or women, feel your success somehow reflects badly on them, they will make it their mission to drag you down.

Never crossed their mind to increase the earning potential, or increase the value society places on things like teaching, social work, the arts, etc., does it?

I don't disagree. Wish it didn't have to take all of us, since there are some truly lovely people out there. But damn! As a species, we're the worst.

This is wrong on every level. There's 2 systems of justice in the US. the richer you are the more horrible$hit you get away with. This family killed thousands of people and ruined families.

There's going to be a moment when the saying careful what you wish for will haunt the people who voted for christo-fascists. But until it actually impacts their family, they won't understand. I am fearful for all suffering it will cause the rest of us in the meantime. Hope your daughter finds home❤️

There are times when the immediate safety and well being of each individual must dictate their choice. And I fully support anyone that has to move! For those of us that these laws don't impact directly, I hope we can stay for the fight so the next person can stay because they want to.

Agreed. But we the people are going to have to save ourselves from that by saying these kinds of things over and over, by voting again and again, by getting loud about expecting more from industry and gov't. Corporations want us to be defeatists so they can keep taking our money while providing less

Wouldn't that be more efficient than losing so much power moving electricity from the point of production to the user? Government could fund product testing to come up with innovative new technologies and products to make alternative energy more accessible in the market.

Thanks for the great article. Showcases the complexity of the issue. What if we moved to off-grid solutions instead. If every new building had to have solar panels (or appropriate alternative sources) designed to maximize power to the building, wouldn't that reduce demand on the grid?

In case anyone was confused about what whitewashing looks like... Here's one example being done by a middle aged white dude who has no idea what he's talking about, but it's in a position where others will hear him and it will be on the record.
