I don't think we, Americans, truly appreciate the symbolism of this moment in US history. One white international criminal lawyer, one Black male lawyer, and two Black female lawyers are leading our country through the preservation of our democracy. The Founding Fathers never dreamt of this.

First spout: this week I called on elected prosecutors around the country to stand up to the threats & intimidation tactics being used against the Manhattan DA. Critique cases, criticize decisions, litigate in court, but threats against prosecutors don’t belong in a democracy.

The Harlem Hellfighters were a predominantly Black regiment in WWI. They confronted racism even as they trained for war, brought jazz to France, and battled longer than any other American unit. They also won the Croix de Guerre for their bravery. The medals can be seen in the colourized photo.

George was on Molly Jong-Fast's podcast the other day and Molly asked a sort of throw-away question about future changes in George's life. It sounded like it might have been an inside joke. I wonder if they will be divorced one of these days. In my opinion she won't change (do the right thing).
