Mae Jemison is a doctor, engineer, and NASA astronaut. Jemison was the first African American woman to travel in space. She has written books, acted and even appeared on an episode of Star Trek. Jemison has been inducted into the International Space Hall of Fame & National Women's Hall of Fame.

Maud Menten was one of the first enzymologists and a Canadian chemist. She is known for her work on enzyme kinetics - the famous Michaelis Menten Equation. Her work was important to measure how fast enzymes work and still taught in foundation level courses today.

Tu Youyou discovered artemisinin, a magical cure of Malaria but never got the recognition worldwide despite her Noble Prize in 2015.
She worked in China and was a phytochemist who looked a tradiitional medications like extracts of sweet wormwood (Artemisia annua)
to isolate their active substance.
