I use a teaspoon or less. Doesn’t take much to get the desired effect, which is just to add fat to the mix which can make it easier on the stomach and also evens out the caffeine buzz a bit.

Water first for quick hydration and meds, then coffee once I have my breakfast made (no coffee without food!). I’ve been doing the “bulletproof”coffee for a few years, and my blend is coffee, grass fed butter, 1/2 and 1/2, and a splash of maple syrup, then froth. Delicious and less tummy trouble!
