Martin Amis, one of my favorite authors, seen here with his close friend Christopher Hitchens. Amis never wrote a boring sentence. RIP, Martin Amis. The world is poorer without you.

Unlike Twitter, there's no algorithm to push content in front of you so you literally have to follow people to make this place work. If you're following less than 100 people and have less than 100 followers, echo this and comment here and follow each other back. We all need each other here.

More than just wanting a Twitter alternative, I hope this platform succeeds because it would demonstrate that it is possible to responsibly police harassment, trolling, disinformation, and bots on social media, while still allowing for robust debate about issues.

Best part of the WI victory? The huge numbers of young people voting. Something is happening. 2024 will be the year of the young voter if we can put resources where they belong, organizing, supporting, and most of all listening to the voters between 18-25.

The GOP-controlled Tennessee House has expelled Rep. Justin Jones because he protested with his constituents the killing of the innocents #CovenantSchool . This is what GOP authoritarianism looks like. Its retributive and spiteful. Un-elect these bastards before we lose what's left of Democracy.

I see the Twitter bird got eaten by the Doge Dog! But of course, the price for the cryptocurrency Musk favors and promotes, soared.

Reflective moment: Was it me or did it seem like the Media (MSNBC, FOX, CNN) OD'd on Trump? I thought the level and type of coverage was unwarranted (watching his plane take off? Really?). At one-point, you couldn't tell which president was in NY (the actual POTUS was in Minnesota for clean energy).

A white man buys Twitter, one of the most powerful modes of disseminating information in the world, and proceeds to dismantle it.

A Black man creates #Spoutible in its place. I am continuously reminded how indebted America is to the perseverance of the Black community.

There’s Already a Solution to the Crisis of Local News. Just Ask This Founding Father.

The founders believed a healthy press was so important "it shouldn’t necessarily be left entirely to the free market."
