I think Twitter / X is in the final stages of life. What a useless platform. Since today, I can't see replies to tweets.

This is our darling Oisin, who sadly passed away today.
He leaves a huge void in our lives. We are heartbroken.

Grasses are often overlooked in favour of big showy flowers. This is the Crested Dog’s-Tail grass. Aren't the tiny flowers really pretty?

It's wonderful to make new discoveries in the garden, all thanks to adhering to a 'no mow' regime. Yesterday, I spotted some Eyebright specimens growing in close proximity to the yellow rattle.

I am absolutely thrilled to have discovered a young hawthorn growing in the garden. Hawthorn. Hawthorn is native to Ireland and supports over 300 species.

The wren is Ireland's second smallest species of bird and it's also the loudest. This little one has been swooping into the garden for the past few days.

This little singing blackbird caught my attention this evening. You can hear another blackbird singing in the distance. Isn't nature just so beautiful?

I grew up listening to the story of the tragedy at Menlo, Co Galway. It was talked about because my great grandparents came from the Annaghdown /Headford area.

On 4th September 1828, 20 people travelling from Annaghdown, Co Galway, to a fair in Galway on the Caisleán Nua were drowned.
