Wild kingdom day on the east side of Hungry Horse Reservoir.
Came around one corner & encountered a cow moose w. her healthy 2nd year calf.
Around the next corner was a young grizzly who beat feet around the corner when seeing me.
Also saw a black bear and a pine marten too fast to photograph.

I thought these triangles were rocks until they fluttered. Beautiful small blue butterflies. Many of them. I think the damp spot had something sweet spilled there. They refused to move.

Hungry Horse Reservoir is low. Prepping for runoff and then they will keep water high to help fisheries. (Can you spot the buoy on the knob on the left?) Tricky boat launch even during full pool.
