Ocotillos are one of the most unique and dramatic plant species in the desert, going from dormant grey branches to bursting with life, full of green leaves and massive red blossoms punctuating the blue desert sky.

Grateful desert dwellers cherish the spring bloom each year it happens, we don't get enough rain in the drought years to have more than a minimal perennial bloom so we never take the superbloom for granted.
